So, everyone remember that sketch I did 800 years ago? Well, in an attempt to work on something stress-free/easy, I revisited my glasses sketch. When I originally drew him, I only half had Guren in mind. The end result was close enough. And, since I like drawing things for my best friend so much, I changed him up enough to pass as Guren in "summer" clothes. Assuming he'd ever venture out into a summer-y place.
From there I thought, "well, why don't I sneak Angela in there somewhere?" Which lead to doodling around with backgrounds. (He originally started out at some ritzy hotel with a nice garden in the background.) But then, just having Angela in the background wasn't cute enough for me. So, to make a long story only slightly shorter than it already is, I ended up with this:
I won't lie. It was just an excuse to draw a bathing suit. And leave me alone about the chair! I pictured one of those nice white wicker chairs that resorts have! So, think of him as on a patio that goes out to the beach. Or something. Humour me.
I actually thoroughly enjoy this pic! Mostly because it was literally some garbage sketch I did for practice and it expanded into something cute. Always a good thing.
And holy crap. I wrote a lot. Sorry for all the reading. I know. It totally wasn't worth it, but what can you do?
Have a great weekend everyone!

Another finished piece?!
So early in the week? What is this?!
Yes! I have finally finished the commission I've been working on the last month or so! I will post the description from my DA page:
This was a commission from one of my long time friends! It was a wedding portrait of sorts.. that I kind of took in my own direction.
I set out to do something with an Art Nouveau style. But it kinda grew and changed from there! I did some research and decided I wanted some special meanings within the piece as well.
So we have...
Ivy leaves - Fidelity
Peony - Happy marriage
Sunflower - Adoration, loyalty, longevity
24 red roses - Congratulations (or, 25 if you count the partial one on the left side, for passionate love)
The heart frame is kind of obvious. And the background was from a photo I remember seeing years ago of them out for a hike (I believe) at the top of a hill. :D So I wanted to play on that outdoorsy hobby.
Also tried playing with base coats a little more as well. I think the white came out a lot strong with a blue base rather than a grey!
So overall, I'm very very pleased with this! He seems to be as well, which is the icing on the cake!!
That is all!

Progress Photos!
So the pants are complete, and I've submitted my entry to the contest! Here are the progress photos for now!
First are the final inks.
And the chalk roughs on the pants. Fun side note: these are my first roughs. The ones I drew on the WRONG side of the pants. MAN that was a kick in the ass.
More to come tomorrow!!

So here are a few more designs. These were literally like... 10 second gestures. Or less.

Rough week.
Actually... no. VERY rough week. I do have a small update, though~!
There is a contest at work, where you paint a pair of jeans with characters from your favourite childhood story. Alice in Wonderland... is not my favourite, haha. But I've wanted to do something Alice for a little while, so these are the initial thumbnails.
I'll update tomorrow with some designs from my ACTUAL favourite childhood story!
G'night!

Updated Deviant Art and more!
I've spent this (insanely) hot Sunday working on commission... without much thinking about getting my weekly doodles scanned. So, to make up for it, I have a little preview of my commission!
Some of the lines. (slightly reduced in size)
Annnnd I'm diving right into the colours! (actual size)
Huge work, but it's turning out nicely, I think!
Have a great week everyone!

Couple o' comics!
It has been a CRAZY week. I ended up getting really really sick in the middle of the most disgusting heatwave of the season (so far). It was horrid. Needless to say, not much commission work got done. However, I did manage to churn out these short little comic strips for a family newsletter. Also: don't worry about not getting the jokes. They're family inside jokes that you aren't supposed to understand!
And that's all for today!

And I deliver!
Maaaaaan. I didn't think I'd make it, but here we are. A couple designs from some comics I've been working on!
The first is from Chapeau. Not the final design.. something I'm still playing with.
And the next is from a little comic I'm working on for family.
That is all!

Busy week.
Another busy week! Feels like I haven't had a chance to stop since.... I don't know.
Anyway! This is something I doodled before seeing Eclipse on Thursday. It was... the only decent thing to come outta that evening. Gawd, that movie was disappointing.
I'm going to try and get another update in by the end of the day.. but I make no promises! I have a LOT on my plate at the moment!
Have a great week everyone!
