Big News!

GUYS! I am absolutely THRILLED to finally be able to share this with you! Last year, I was offered the chance to have some of my art work published in the art resource book, 21Draw! (This was my super secret project from last year)

I cannot begin to describe how humbled and excited I am to be in the same book as some of my absolute favourite artists!! I am so grateful for the opportunity! Thank you to the 21Draw team!

Apologies!

I'm so sorry for the lack of updates last month. I had a BIG project I was working on and it took up the entire month (plus planning wedding events with/for my best friend as well! Busy summer!!)

In any case, I will have more news later but for now, have a WIP! This is what I'm playing around with for my business card at the moment!

Christmas cards..

Sorry about last week! I was busy working on Christmas Cards!

For those who follow me on tumblr, I started a Christmas card giveaway. I limited it to 10 people (I have a billion other things to do!) and have been working away on that!

Since I don't want to post the sketches I've been doing in the cards... I'm just gonna leave this update for now!

I know I don't normally do this, but unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances, I don't have any art to post this week!

So... Cupcakes! I'm taking a cake decorating class currently, so it's just some practice! Need to get better!!

Now, I'm off to Niagara Falls for the weekend! I'll try to update with something from the hotel, but no promises!

Fan Expo is over...

And that's about how I felt last night, hahaha.

The whole thing was really fun! And I got some fantastic advice on putting myself out there! So here's to a successful upcoming year!

Catching up!

I posted all of this on my tumblr earlier, but here we go!

So, earlier this week I got inspired by a wonderful little fic... and started doodling. Which turned into a 2 page comic.

I've penciled out the pages and am currently in the process of inking/lettering them. It's just taking longer than expected! Mostly because things keep coming up!

Annnd, a couple of Donna Noble sketches I did. One was on a break at work and the other was done at 2am one night when I had a little extra creative energy, haha.

Inks!

Wow, it's hard to believe that 3 weeks have gone by! I had such a good time at the studio. Gained invaluable experience and met some truly amazing people! I'm so grateful for the opportunity!


But now back to business!

Just some inks for now! I'm really pleased with how they came out! I almost don't want to colour it.... haha.

Anyway, I've decided to enjoy my remaining week off in Toronto; I'm going to do some sight seeing and, hopefully, get some more pieces out in the evening!

Sort-of-hiatus

Hey guys!

Here's the deal: as of Saturday last week, I was hired for a month long contract at a studio in Toronto! Exciting right?! The only problem is it's going to eat up my life for the next few weeks, so updates will be infrequent. I'm going to try and post on the weekend or whenever I have a chance, but I make no promises! I just need to focus on putting my best foot forward here!

Forgotten card!

I realized that I had forgotten to post one of my sketch cards!

....Probably because I'm not as happy with it as I was the others, haha. I'm cutting myself a little slack because it's the first time I've ever drawn Green Lantern! I'm not used to his swishy hair yet!

Anyway, life is moving really fast all of a sudden. I have a crazy amount of things on my to-do list! And it seems to just keep growing! So, please, bare with me if I miss posting. I'm still doing the art! I swear!

In fact, last weekend I had a rough day and that evening, I had a really fluffy cute dream. The next day I wrote down some thoughts and ended up roughing out a 3 page comic! So now it's just a matter of scanning those suckers in and inking them up. ... After I work on things that have more pressing deadlines, of course!

I swear, I'm ecstatic about all of this! It's all very exciting!!

Catching up again..

I started a life drawing class with my best friend recently... and I have a few things that I'll share once I figure out how to.. uh. Scan them. Take a picture of them. Whatever. They're MASSIVE. I am not used to using paper that big! Haha

And speaking of the best friend... I finish a logo for her business this week! It was the thumbnail version of the card I did last week ... only slightly modified. :) I'm pleased with the outcome! I can't wait to get started on the next part of this project.

I also have a few JohnLock sketches I've done .. which I will scan in later!

Tomorrow I am (hopefully) off to the grand opening of the Beaches 4Cats Art Studio tomorrow! I'm looking forward to this place. It seems like it's going to be good times. I definitely want to try one of their Paint Splatter Parties!

And then next week, assuming I get the time off, I definitely want to make a point of going to TCAF. I've wanted to go for YEARS and ALWAYS miss it! I really want to make sure I get out!

Sorry about that. I ended up working every day this week and didn't have a chance to really work! AND, the things I AM working on, I can't really show yet. Haha.

Seriously though, this week is a little lighter for me, so I will do my very best to make up for it. :)

Eep!

I started a new job this week, so it has been a bit of a crazy week!

I have, however, still be sketching and I completed the Katers picture I was working on as well! So! I will update, hopefully tomorrow, with all of that. I'm trying to finish Cory at the moment; I want to have Kate and Cory finished at the same time so I can post them together, so that's the reason for the delay!

Big changes!

I finally purchased my new mac! I got rid of my old computers, so it's been difficult to draw/ink/scan because I was getting everything set up.

There she is! <3 I love it sooo much. However, I still have to buy an adapter for my tablet and I'm a little rusty with inking in PS, but I'll get back in my groove soon enough.

A little doodle I did on my lunch break today.

Seems I keep doing this....

Yeah, missed the second update last week. Unfortunately, on Wednesday I received some truly devastating news and it took me a little while to recover. Not to worry, I'm on the mend and while I know there are still gonna be some rough days ahead, I'll keep doing my best to push through.

Enough about that.

On Saturday, my best friend, my sister and I went to Toronto. While there, we were fortunate enough to find out that the Cavalcade of Lights was on that night! Anyone who knows me knows how much I adore fireworks. So we extended our shopping trip to include the show! And here are some shots from it!

It was a great day!

Life is getting away from me!

I've been bad for updates the last few weeks... Unfortunately, life is getting away from me. I'll be back and fresh next week, it's just right now I'm on my ..7th day straight and I'm a little burnt out, haha. It's a damn good thing I love my job!

Another friend is going through a hard time.. and since I am, apparently, never going to get tired of adding to my series... here is "Green" from the "Love" series:

Other than that, I'm in the middle of colouring the Ben and Olivia picture.. inking the Harry Potter (James/Lily) picture I posted a while back and will start colouring Green ASAP. Also trying to think of a name for my damn comic. Would you believe that particular thing is causing me the most mental anguish? Is it weird that I hate naming things because it feels like the title itself will trap me? Man, I really AM a commitaphobe. Hahaha.
